Arnica Gel UK: Soothing Arnica Gel for Face and Body

First Lady London has been formulating skincare for deeper and melanin-rich skin tones since 2003. Our Moisturising and Soothing Beauty Gel with Arnica is a light, non-sticky arnica gel for face and body that absorbs in seconds and leaves skin soft with a natural glow.
What is arnica gel?
Arnica is a flowering plant that has been used in traditional skincare for generations, and arnica extract is a popular ingredient in gels and creams for bumps, bruise-prone skin and tired, dry skin. In our gel, arnica is combined with glycerin to moisturise and soothe, and to help shield skin from dryness and sun exposure. For the background on the plant itself, read What Is Arnica? Arnica gel or arnica cream for bruises?
Many people search for an arnica cream for bruises, and the real difference is texture. A gel is lighter and less greasy than a cream, absorbs fast and does not leave a sticky film, so it is easy to use over a larger area or under clothes. Our arnica gel is described as supportive for everyday bumps and for skin that feels sore or tender after minor knocks. It is a cosmetic skincare product, so it is not a treatment for injuries.
If you have a large or painful bruise, a bruise that appears for no reason or does not fade, or you are taking blood-thinning medication, speak to your GP or pharmacist. Do not apply arnica gel to broken skin. Our guides How Arnica Beauty Gel Helps with Bumps, Bruises & Redness and Why Arnica Is Such a Popular Botanical in Skin-Care Products go into more detail on how arnica is used in skincare.
What our arnica gel is made for
Soothing and moisturising
The gel is formulated to moisturise and soothe, and to help protect skin from dryness and itchiness. It is light enough for the face and works on the body too.
Bumps and everyday knocks
Arnica is the botanical most people reach for after a bump. Apply a thin layer to clean, unbroken skin and massage in gently.
Tired skin and aches
The gel is also used to soothe sore, tired areas, including general aches, muscle aches and period discomfort. Massage it in with light pressure and let it absorb.
Sun-exposed skin
The gel helps soothe skin after sun exposure. It does not replace sun protection, so keep using SPF 30 or higher in the daytime.

How to use arnica gel
Step 1: Start with clean, dry skin
Wash and dry the area. Do not use on cuts, grazes or broken skin.
Step 2: Apply a thin layer
Take a small amount and smooth it over the area. A thin layer is enough and it absorbs quickly.
Step 3: Massage gently
Use light circular movements. Avoid pressing hard on a tender area.
Step 4: Repeat as needed
You can use the gel once or twice a day. Patch test on the inner arm first and stop if skin becomes irritated. Keep away from the eyes.

Arnica gel FAQs
Is arnica gel the same as arnica cream?
They use the same botanical, but a gel has a lighter, fresher, non-sticky texture while a cream is thicker and richer. If you prefer a lightweight finish, a gel is usually the easier choice.
Can I use arnica gel on my face?
Yes. Our arnica gel is formulated for face and body. Avoid the eye area and patch test first.
Does arnica gel get rid of bruises?
Arnica gel is a cosmetic skincare product and does not treat or heal injuries. It is used to soothe and moisturise skin after everyday bumps. See a pharmacist or GP about bruises that are large, painful or slow to fade.
How often can I use arnica gel?
You can apply a thin layer once or twice a day to clean, unbroken skin. Stop use if you notice irritation.
Is the arnica gel cruelty-free?
Yes. First Lady London products are cruelty-free and formulated in the UK.
