Retinol Body Lotion UK: Cherry Blossom Retinol Treat and Tone

First Lady London has been formulating skincare for deeper and melanin-rich skin tones since 2003. The Cherry Blossom Retinol Treat and Tone Moisturising Body Lotion brings retinol to your body routine, with a hydrating formula that absorbs quickly and locks in moisture for up to 24 hours.
What does retinol body lotion do?
Retinol is a form of vitamin A that is widely used in skincare. It works by boosting skin cell turnover and stimulating collagen synthesis, which is why it is known for smoothing the look of fine lines and for helping to even out mild pigmentation. Most retinol products are made for the face, but the skin on the neck, chest, arms, hands and legs also shows dryness, texture and uneven tone, and a body lotion makes it easy to treat a larger area.
Our lotion pairs retinol with a moisturising formula, so you get the benefit of retinol without a dry, tight feeling. To learn more, read The Remarkable Benefits of Retinol / Retinyl Palmitate in Skincare and First Lady’s Retinol Cherry Blossom Lotion Benefits.

How to use retinol body lotion
Step 1: Use it in the evening
Retinol can make skin more sensitive to sun, so apply it at night rather than in the morning.
Step 2: Build up slowly
Start by using it two or three nights a week and increase gradually as your skin gets used to it. Patch test on a small area first.
Step 3: Apply to clean, dry skin
Smooth over the area and massage in until absorbed. Avoid broken or sunburnt skin and keep it away from the eyes.
Step 4: Wear SPF in the daytime
Protect treated areas with SPF 30 or higher every day. This matters even more for skin prone to dark marks. Our hyperpigmentation guide explains why.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy, check with your GP or pharmacist before using any retinol product.
