Dark Spot Remover UK: Serums and Soaps for Dark Spots and Uneven Tone

First Lady London has been formulating skincare for deeper and melanin-rich skin tones since 2003. Our dark spot removers are made for the marks that hang around: sun spots, acne marks and uneven patches on the face, knees, elbows and knuckles.
What causes dark spots?
Dark spots form when skin makes extra melanin in one area, usually after sun exposure, acne, a cut or irritation, or because of hormonal change. Deeper skin tones are more prone to them. A dark spot remover works best with sun protection, so SPF is part of the routine. Our guide to hyperpigmentation treatment explains the causes in detail.

How to use a dark spot remover
Step 1: Cleanse and dry
Wash with a gentle cleanser or the dark spot remover soap and pat dry.
Step 2: Apply to the spots
Apply a thin layer of serum to the affected area, or all over if the tone is uneven. Patch test first and start every other night.
Step 3: Moisturise
Follow with moisturiser to keep your skin comfortable.
Step 4: SPF every day
Wear SPF 30 or higher every day. Without it, dark spots can return. Keep brightening serums away from the eyes, and stop if skin stings or peels.
